France 2015 - Day 2 - Overlord Museum

We had to drive past another museum to get to this one. There are a lot of museums in Normandy, every village seems to have one, but this one looked good online

Located at a short distance of the famous "Omaha beach", on the D514 facing the roundabout that provides access to the American Cemetery at Colleville-sur-mer. Overlord Museum chronicles the period of the Allied landing until the liberation of Paris.

The collection was collected by someone who was both a witness to the conflict and involved in the reconstruction of Normandy and was only opened on February 14 2015.

An M-10 Tank Destroyer outside the Museum.

Some of the Dioramas in the museum.

This Panzer V (Panther) was another Normandy veteran destroyed during the battle and left in it's original state.

This display of the German Field Repair workshop was particularly impressive.
