After leaving the Grand Canyon we headed to Planes of Fame
at. Valle Airport Arizona. This is the smaller brother of the Planes of Fame at
Chino in Los Angeles.
Cam and I checked out the aircraft whilst Jo and Danielle
sat in the car. I won’t bore you with photos from this visit… well except for
these few.

After the aircraft we headed to Bearizona in Williams.
This
animal park has only been open since 2010 and for us the attraction was the range
of US native animals. They have a drive through section with Black Bears (20
off in the drive through part alone), Grey Wolves, Arctic Wolves along with Burros, Dall
Sheep and Bison among others. The coolest thing was seeing 2 bears up a tree, and not a little tree either.
After the drive part we checked out the rest of the park. There were more bears, these were juveniles and there were some many I lost count. The park also had Raccoons, which were quite cute, Bobcats (saw them climbing as well) and Foxes among others. They also have a bird show but as its new its not as good as the one we saw in the UK.
It was about 4pm when we finished here. But we decided to drive a bit further west. And rather than take the interstate we decided to take the USA's "Mother Road" Route 66.
We set off intending to drive about 60 miles and find a place to sleep for the night.
On the way we did see quite a few massive trains, each with 4 engines at the front, 2 at the rear and double decker wagons
But as time went on, and as we weren't on the interstate we soon got the feeling that there is nothing much until Kingman, which was 120 miles away. There was 1 hotel on the way but by the time we hit we only had 40 mins to Kingman so we kept trucking on.
